1ST HOUSE LAGNA (Ascendant)
Out of 12 houses the first house or the lagna(Ascendant) is the most important of them all. Being the first house all the subsequent houses stand in relation to it. Every thing depends upon the strength or otherwise of this house.

In other words it is the house of the struggle to get liberation from the shackles of matter.
