#          All mantras serve two minimum purposes: The first is that they accelerate the speed of rotation of the chakras, expelling massive amounts of negative energy and replace this in the energy body with whatever energy is available from the environment. Second, mantras generate energies at the chakras meant for specific purposes. If the energy body is insufficiently clean due to disease or lifestyle factors (intoxication etc.), there can be major ill-effects because of energy mis-match and congestion. This is commonly seen where individuals embark on mantra-meditations without authentic guidance or supervision. There are very few mantras that are "universally safe".

All mantras starting with "Om" are meant to be chanted only at pure places by those whose energy fields are suitably developed. At this time we have identified only two mantras that are "universally safe". These may be chanted by anyone in an energy-clean environment, and these will progress one's self development. No special initiation is necessary in order to receive the minimum benefits. These mantras are :

The Mahamantra : hare krishna hare krishna, krishna krishna hare hare, hare rama, hare rama, rama rama hare hare.

The other healing mantra is : nam-myoho renge kyo.

Both these mantras are totally non-sectarian and their benefits are freely available to whomsoever desires them. No institution, organization or individual has a proprietary monopoly over them. Avoid falling into "exclusive" traps, although it is a fact that the highest benefits of these mantras are available through special empowerment (diksha).

#          The most convenient way is to place camphor on an electronic mosquito mat device with an old (used) mat so that low heat gradually evaporates the camphor. Also, camphor can be placed on the electric bulb of a table lamp to evaporate slowly. Burning camphor is of no use as sufficient camphor vapour is not generated.

#            Mustard oil has the capacity to neutralize negative energy even when cold or not being used as lamp fuel. A ghee (clarified butter) lamp generates positive energy in addition to burning up negative energy. Til (sesame) oil is the most powerful cleansing and healing of all oils used is a lamp.

#          Sea-salt water absorbs and neutralizes negative energies. One or two handfuls of sea-salt may be dissolved in a bucket of water. This salt is locally known as samudri namak or kacha namak. One may also rinse oneself after a bath with sea-salt water and then with fresh water.

#            Foodgrains, especially rice, have the capacity to absorb and transmute negative energies. In particular, on the eleventh day of the waxing and waning moon cycle, this absorption is at a maximum. This day is called "ekadasi" (eleventh day). Followers of traditional religious and spiritual methods observe this day as a fast specifically from Foodgrains.

#            Yellow, orange and blue violet flowers are the most powerful for this purpose.
